Name:
Gender:
Place of Origin: (Real or made up location where your character is from.)
Backstory: (Who was your character prior to being trapped on an alien death-world?)
Class: (Assault, Trapper, Medic, Support)
Note that health, speed, and certain other factors will be universally the same among all hunter players.

Stats:
Intelligence, strength, and dexterity are your core stats, having high scores for these will give you bonuses for the skills listed under them. They are scaled from 1-20 with one being the lowest and twenty the highest, you have 40 points to spend in total. Each of the skills is also on a 1-20 scale, you have 100 total points to put into skills.

Intelligence: (How smart is your character? This is used for actions involving the use of technology, logic, and/or reasoning.)
First Aid: (How well can you heal your fellow hunters? This skill is used for restoring character health without the use of medic equipment, as well as to enhance the effects of medic equipment.)
Repair: (How well can your character repair machines? This skill is used for repairing hunter equipment, and other mechanical items and devices you will find.)
Perception: (How good is your character at noticing details? This skill is used for tracking the monster, and makes it easier for your character to pick up details from the area around them.)

Strength: (How much brute strength does your character posses? This is used for lifting and carrying heavy objects, and escaping from giant spider webs.)
Brawling: (How good is your character at hand-to-hand combat? This skill is used to escape grapples from wildlife and monsters. It is also used for when you really need to punch another human in the face.)
Climb: (How well can your character scramble up vertical surfaces? This skill is used to gain altitude without the use of your jetpack, and to hold onto objects when you might not want to let go.)
Athletics: (How good is your character at physically exhausting tasks? This skill is used for jumping across gaps, navigating rough terrain, and swimming in unfavorable conditions.)

Dexterity: (How good is your character at aiming non-shooty object? This skill comes into play for throwing objects, and performing difficult actions with ones hands, like picking locks, or magic tricks!)
Shooting: (How good is your characters aim? Determines how likely you are to shoot the correct object, instead of background objects, or your friends. Unless you actually want to hit your friends.)
Piloting: (How good are you at flying? This skill is used for jetpack maneuvering, and to fly aircraft.)
Stealth: (How sneaky are you? This skill allows you to sneak past threats that you might otherwise have to engage in combat. Attacks performed when a character successfully sneaks will receive a bonus to Shooting checks and damage.)

Name: Barry Oum
Gender: Male
Place of Origin: Earth's moon
Backstory: Barry Oum is a former Chemtrooper. One of the main chemical engineers of the troopers, he is a very intelligent person. However, his intelligence is also paired with an extreme case of sociopathic disorder. Whereas Hyde takes great joy in inflicting pain (making him a psychopath), Oum's only joy comes from the pursuit of science and knowledge. He enjoys working against the mysterious or unknown and solving those problems with his mind. He has nearly no regard for the lives of others, which makes him a very cruel person. He is an incredibly logical person, making all choices based off logic, and has no concept of right or wrong. It is said that all Chemtroopers wear masks so they don't hurt themselves (Hyde being the exception), but Oum slightly deviates from this. To protect himself from his harmful substances, he dons a suit of yellow armor, smaller and sleeker than Lennox's Thunderchild (similar to Iron Man, decorated with hazmat symbols), complete with a collapsible helmet to protect his face as well. His weapons are built into his armor. He calls his suit of armor the Plague Fiend.
Class: Support

Stats:
Intelligence: 20
First Aid: 12
Repair: 14
Perception: 10

Strength: 12
Brawling: 14
Climb: 8
Athletics: 12

Dexterity: 8
Shooting: 10
Piloting: 14
Stealth: 6

Equipment:
1. Radiation Blaster- This weapon is attached underneath Oum's right forearm. This short ranged attack fires fires in a cone. It is a continuous beam that is fully automatic. The more times a same enemy is shot by the weapon consecutively, the more damage is done (up to a cap). Clip size is very large. Damage starts off low, but increases to massive damage. Oum can't move as fast while continually firing, and will eventually need to reload, resetting the damage. May also cause a blinding effect to whoever is in the beam.

2. Viral Grenades- A diseased grenade is fired from a launcher on Oum's left wrist (about the same range as Caira's grenades). The grenade can travel a far distance, and explodes in a largish area upon impact. The explosion will cause viral needles to shoot from the grenade. If a creature is hit with needles, the creature will become infected. If an infected creature is eaten, the creature that ate it will take high damage. Higher doses, caused by an increase of needles, deal low-medium damage. However, against humans, it causes paralysis rather than damage. A low dose against a human will cause numbness, resulting lower accuracy, slower movement, less strength, and sluggish reaction time, while a higher dose will cause total paralysis and shutdown in motor skills. A grenade needs to be reloaded after each shot.

3. Painkiller Generators- a deployable item that can be thrown. It will spray a gas that will cause allies to take reduced damage from incoming attacks. It is in the form of a small sphere, about the size of a shot put, and can be thrown at about the same distance of all deployables (Markov's mines, Maggie's harpoons, Bucket's turrets).

4. Cloaking Field- The Plague Fiend comes equipped with a cloaking mechanic built into it. Can also cloak nearby allies.

Name: Lawrence Noroma
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Place of Origin: Lysithea (moon), Jupiter
Class: Trapper

Backstory

"Men have the ability of choice, soldiers are forced to follow the choices of man. A man can choose to become a solider, but a soldier can never become a man." -Admiral Hitchup CO of the HUBs 5th fleet.

When you make a deal with HUB you must expect a large debt to follow you. The larger the deal the larger the debt. For two parents a place safe from the evils of the arm was worth enough to give away their child. A few months after relocation to Lysithea they had their baby boy. The parents were given the first four years with the child before HUB called for their end of the bargain. The parents had grown attached to the boy over the years, and refused to give the boy up. The two were mopped off of the Lysithea surface like all of the other fools that resisted the HUB. In the end HUB got what they wanted another soldier.

HUB had found that crafting soldiers from a younger age produced far better results than those that waited until into young adulthood or longer. Reaction time, firearm skill, and obedience all stood above those of other soldiers. It also allowed for greater specialization of these soldiers. Officer, scouting, medical, piloting, hand to hand, and awareness training could all be learned at accelerated rates, and with better effects. These children never saw combat until the age of sixteen, but virtual reality training and years of study allowed them to be ten or more years prepared for combat.

The child from Lysithea, Noroma, was specialized in the field of scouting and placed under control of CIG9 upon reaching the age of sixteen. After eight years of service has has become one of the leading counter intelligence officers. Due to his combat prowess he has been one of the most active agents in the field, and hasn't been able to return to HUB space in over four years. He didn't think twice about his orders when he was told he was being sent to Shear as a planet tamer. For him this was just another mission.

Stats

Intelligence: 8
  First Aid: 4
  Repair: 2
  Perception: 18

Strength: 14
  Brawling: 4
  Climb: 12
  Athletics: 12

Dexterity: 18
  Shooting: 18
  Piloting: 16
  Stealth: 14

Equipment

1. Lil' Miss Sunshine-Fires highly focused plasma energy at extreme velocities. Fires five shots before overheating, and requiring the gun to cool down. The gun resembles .44 magnums that some hunters are still seen carrying. The energy weapon differs from the standard ballistic version via a plasma cell sitting where the magazine normally resides. Upon overheating the pistol automatically causes the plasma cell to be ejected from the gun, and forced to cool down for a few seconds. Once cooled down the plasma cell will automatically be reinjected into the pistol. The plasma tech works much more effectively against heavily armored opponents, and has little effect against flesh.

2. Inhibitor Grenades-Gray balls that expand, and stick to the flesh upon contact. Anyone that touches the grenade will experience sudden weariness. Against human opponents this works as a knockout agent, but against larger beasts this seems to slowly cause fatigue. Large beasts under this grenades effect will find that they have greatly reduced stamina, and a much more difficult time regaining stamina even in the middle of combat. Multiple grenades can be placed upon an individual, but due to safety precautions cause all other grenades on the body to fall off once it begins to produce its gas. Users of these grenades have been shown to experience fatigue upon long use of these grenades.

3. Infrared Optics-Allows the user to gain enhanced vision for a short period of time. Enhanced vision allows for the user to to see wildlife, all tracks, and extremely large beasts at extreme distances. Can only be used for short durations before they begin to overheat, and singe the user's skin. When the user begins to feel the goggles to overheat they should be shut down immediately and allowed to cool down. Extended use has shown the goggles to reach 450o Celsius. All data shown to the user can be uploaded to the HUD of teammates. The goggles can see through some foliage, but is unable to see through objects and all data contained within water.

Quotes

"How hard can monster hunting be? If men the age of Halsey can do it then it should be a breeze."
"Look! It thinks we can't see it when it hinds in the brush. It is in for one hell of a surprise."
"Lock and load! Dome's dropping."
"Stand still! Do you know how hard these nades are to hit?"

Character Sheet and Hunter Submission Thread Empty Re: Character Sheet and Hunter Submission Thread

Post by Blue Lightning Mon Jul 13, 2015 10:23 pm

Name: Archibald "Archie" Leigh
Gender: Male
Place of Origin: Born on a space station, orbiting Saturn.
Backstory: Archibald's parents worked on a station that had the primary purpose of studying and gathering useful minerals from Saturn's rings. As Archie grew up, he became interested in helping to treat the wounds of those on board the station, and worked along side the station's doctors. Though significant injuries were very few and far between. When he heard news of Shear, and namely that Salveron Industries had a lab there, he decided he had to check it out for himself. He got a job at the Medlab there, developing Generyst technologies, and that leads us up to the current day.
Class: Medic

Stats:

Intelligence: 18
   First Aid:19
   Repair: 8
   Perception: 10

Strength: 8
   Brawling: 5
   Climb: 10
   Athletics: 11

Dexterity:14
   Shooting:17
   Piloting:10
   Stealth:10

Equipment:
1. The Silver Bullet: Archie sports a designated marksmen rifle, which can fire rounds one at a time over a considerable range. It has powerful recoil however, which is the main limiting factor in how quickly he can pull the trigger. However, the damage it deals is on the lower side, as he uses ammunition that is mainly composed of silver. But silver is an extremely conductive metal, and as a result a target will subsequently take increased damage from fire and energy sources (about 1.5x, OOC) as long as they are targeted in the general area of the wound.

2. Generyst Breeder: This somewhat heavy device looks like little more than a steel box on a tripod, with the Salveron logo plastered on the side. But in reality, it houses the spores of the fungi that is responsible for the Generyst technology, and rapidly replicates them before being released into the air. The result is a cloud of healing spores that float around the Breeder, for about 20 meters. Staying within the cloud has a healing effect, though long-term exposure will reduce its effect, as it is not quite as refined as the Medgun technology.

3. Shield Wall: The best way to heal a wound, is to ensure it never happens at all. That's why when Archie saw that Patterson tech could be used to create small scale force fields, he got his hands on a device that could make a 10x10 wall of the stuff. Of course, the throwable device is a bit small and therefore has a fairly short battery life, but it can help slow down a charging Sloth for a moment. Or maybe block a rock.

Post by Pythios Tue Jul 14, 2015 9:39 pm

Name: Zyadrol
Gender: Male
Place of Origin: Unknown/Undetermined
Class: Assault
Backstory:
Little is really known about Zyadrol because he refuses to talk about it. When he does talk about it, he usually ends with some kind of mention of genetic modification and reconstructive surgeries. Rather silent in nature, Zyadrol rarely talks about anything, unless it is necessary for survival. Which is why he decided to team up with the hunters, as the local fauna is less than friendly towards him.

If you were to ask any of the hunters, they would tell you that Zyadrol would fit right in as a monster by looks alone. Some would say that he was a monster, if not for the fact that the monsters try to eat him.

Zyadrol seems to be a creature out of a myth, yet strangely man. One could say he's a splice of a dragon and a man.

Stats:

Intelligence: 8
First Aid: 3
Repair: 4
Perception: 7

Strength: 18
Brawling: 20
Climb: 18
Athletics: 20

Dexterity: 14
Shooting: 17
Piloting: 5
Stealth: 6

Equipment:
1. Flamethrower: This can obscure some vision of both the shooter and the target.

2. Rivet Gun: Red hot rivets fired from this rather large gun. Zyadrol enjoys being close to heat, and this weapon gives off some heat, through the process of heating rivets.

3. Modified Jetpack: Allows for Zyadrol to quickly elevate himself.

Okay all, make note that the submissions for characters for the first campaign are now closed. MidnightRoses' character is not actually approved, because she did not fill out character's skills with the respective points for her character.

Remember, you have 100 points in total to spend.

Shame, Admin, approving characters that aren't finished. Wink

It's kind of pointless if I don't have a specific grasp of character functionality, and for in game purposes the numbers are important.
